Currently, I am teaching English II, Computer Concepts, Office Procedures and Accounting. My philosophy of Education is to provide maximum learning in the classroom. Students seem to learn best, when meaningful learning takes place that is applicable to real-world experiences. Students are more receptive to learning when the lesson and information is current and newsworthy. One of my goals is to continue to strengthen my teaching skills and to continue to adapt to the changing needs of students by providing creative lessons that meet the challenges of a global society. Another goal is to provide maximum learning in the classroom by creating a learning environment that empowers students to develop competence and lessons that entail the following expectations:
- Expect students to seek high academic standards
- Facilitate effective communication in English/Business through reading,
writing, speaking, and listening skills
- Help students to develop personal responsibilities by guiding them to be
successful members of a global society
- Foster various skills through an integrated approach of reading, writing,
and thinking critically
- Provide diverse readings so students develop an
understanding of diverse multicultural literature and to
develop strategies to improve literacy levels
- Provide lessons that adhere to the State Goal Learning Standards of
Language Arts such as reading with understanding and fluency, reading
and understanding literature representative of various societies, eras,
ideas, writing to communicate for a variety of purposes, listening, and
speaking effectively in a variety of situations and using language to
acquire, assess and communicate information
