Components of a Note Card
Each specific example you use in your paper must have a note card. You may write more note cards than you have specific examples, however. Only one thought should be represented on a card. Do not jam many ideas onto a card. Each note should be written on a separate 4x6 ruled index card.
Each note card should contain:
1. A slug, or heading describing the information recorded on the card.
2. A source card number (This should match the Works Cited card.)
3. The information itself (Be sure to introduce the quotation by naming the speaker/thinker of the quote)
4. A page number in the lower right-hand corner which indicates where the note is found in the original source.
